Cozy: It’s all about texture

Textures are everything

As we approach fall, the weather gets colder and the little summer dress becomes impractical, while boots and sweaters keep us comfortable. Don’t get me wrong, I love sweaters, but I used to hate them. Why? They were itchy, suffocating, too tight or too loose. Until I had an epiphany one day and learned that the perfect sweater is a combination of texture, color, fit and weight.

I have a go-to sweater that I wear when I want to be cozy and look welcoming–usually first dates. It’s brown cashmere, crew neck, loosely fit, and incredibly soft–sometimes I fall asleep in it. Also, I find that the neutral color complements my blue eyes and golden brown hair. In my sweater arsenal, I also have dark grey, black and navy blue sweaters. Dark colored sweaters are always in style, go with everything, and if you spill food or drink on yourself, the sweater won’t show stains easily!

Tip: Invest in a dark colored cashmere sweater of medium-heavy weight–you’ll wear it everywhere, with everything, and all day long, especially in fall, winter and early spring.

In this street style, she plays with a loosely fit turtleneck that looks very comfortable, and pairs it with a buttery suede skirt. Dark grey and black, a pairing that is super classic, super chic, and always applicable–for work, a date, a fun day, or simply a day/night in. With long, moisturized hair, oversized black sunglasses and simple jewelry, this look is a winning combination for any hair color.
